Hi Ladies! I hope you all remember what your jobs are for our author study. Make sure that I have your attributes chart by this weekend so I can compile all of our thoughts into one chart by next week. I will also be designing a cover for our book so if you have ideas email or post them to me. I want to include all your ideas so let me know what you are thinking! Everything that we assigned today should be done by the end of next week so that we can start organizing our book. When you finish something email it to me (jbeltz@gmail.com) so that I can look it over and organize it with the rest of our author study stuff. Have a fabulous week despite the horrible weather!

Emily- biography of Kate DiCamillo, List of 5+ lesson plans on the internet related to one or more books
Jessi- Writing craft lesson using one book, an alphabetized and annotated list of all the books

CERAMIC BUNNIES

Hi Ladies! Here is the list of books we are going to use for our project. As of right now we are using all of her books only because there are only 11 and we might as well do them all instead of cut 1 or 2 out. But these are the titles. Try and get them or read them. I will have most of them from a public library for us to read, but it will be easier if there are multiple copies. I need to know email addresses because I cannot post an attribute chart here so I will email it to you later. So these are our books:

Because of Winn Dixie
The Tale of Despereaux
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane
Great Joy
Louise, The Adventures of a Chicken
Tiger Rising
Mercy Watson: fights crime, thinks like a pig, princess in disguise, goes for a ride, to the rescue

Those are all of our books so try and get your hands on them soon. We should have them all read when we get back from spring break!!

I don't really have a question relating to the project requirements; my only question is for my fellow Kate diCamillo group members. Which books does everybody have? I went to the library today and found Because of Winn-Dixie, The Tiger Rising, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, and Mercy Watson to the Rescue. I was also able to borrow copies of The Tale of Despereaux and Louise, the Adventures of a Chicken. I will bring all of them tomorrow, but I was just wondering what everybody else was able to get their hands on...

And here is a lesson plan for Because of Winn-Dixie:

Question.

Hey group members of TFSC,

Since we are majoring in Elementary Education, should we include all her chapter books? Should we just use the ones that are appropriate for up to grade six?

Here is a lesson plan for Heartbeat:

Professor Kinsey

Bird by Bird, Kid by Kid, the principle stays the same

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to our class 'blog, Kid by Kid.

We'll use our 'blog in a couple of ways: First, to introduce ourselves to host teachers at Highland Park School. Second, to communicate with each other about ideas related to Literacy and teaching throughout the semester.

To kick off our site, I'm asking everyone to upload a photograph of herself along with a brief bio.

Your bio can include the same information you'll write to the parents of students in your class at HPS. In this way, you're killing two birds with one stone (a great idiom, by the way).

I'm looking forward to all the ways we can make this 'blog support our on-going learning throughout the semester.

See you soon!

Prok (Professor Kaback--can you find a famous professor known as Prok? Extra credit for anyone who discovers my "namesake" and posts the answer on our 'blog.)

a.k.a. Suzy
